Ranging from geology, hydrology through to genetics of animal “kinds” and population growth mathematics, the supporting science is irrefutable.

In addition, the philosophical / theological questions of “Why” was the flood necessary and “The use of water in the act of salvation” are addressed.

In Matthew 23:37-39 Jesus outlines Israel’s past, present & future.

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings…

This tells us the purpose of all history: that God might gather His children together. (Jerusalem is a synecdoche for all of Israel).  The image of the mother bird gathering and covering her brood is a familiar one. Moses used it in his farewell sermon (Deut. 32:11). It is a picture of love, tender care, and a willingness to die to protect others. Jesus did die for the sins of the world, including the nation of Israel: but “His own received Him not” (John 1:11).

Israel’s past is the underlying theme of Romans chapter 9.

and ye would not!  Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

As Chuck Missler says: The purpose of all history was that God might gather His children together. The tragedy of all history is that through disobedience and rejecting their Messiah, Israel ‘would not’, and consequently ‘her house has been left desolate’, with the Jews scattered around the world.

This sums up Israel’s present condition and is the underlying theme of Romans chapter 10.

For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Jesus left the nation with a promise: He would one day return, the nation would see Him and say, “Blessed be He that cometh in the name of the Lord!” This is a quotation from Psalm 118:26, that great messianic psalm that was quoted so many times in His last week of ministry. The crowds had used those very words (Matt. 21:9). This is a statement of the hope Israel has, and that Paul alludes to, that the Nation of Israel will be regathered and restored, albeit a remnant.

This future hope is the theme of Romans chapter 11.

In this chapter Peter underlines his reason for writing – namely to stir up your pure minds and to get you to remember:

• What you have been saved from – (we were in darkness and given over to the lusts and desires of the flesh)
• What you have been saved for – (you are to be a Royal Priesthood & Holy nation to show forth His praise!),
• The certainty of our faith – (it is based on real events recorded by eyewitnesses and furthermore we have the undeniable proof of fulfilled prophecy)
• Jesus is coming back – soon!
• The material world around us is temporary and will all be burnt up
• What you have awaiting you – the new heavens and new earth

However, Peter warns that in the last days people would scoff at the idea of Jesus returning, would deny that God is Creator, and would reject that there was once a worldwide flood to judge the earth.

In effect their argument will be that, because their perception is that apocalyptic events don’t happen (in their experience), they could not have happened in the past and the idea of divine judgment will not occur in the future.

To this Peter says they are ‘willingly ignorant’. Chuck Missler points out that this shows they have made a decision to not believe – not because there is insufficient evidence, but because they don’t want to accept it.

They would rather carry on in their own lusts – lusts for power and position, lusts for recognition and accolades, lusts to been seen as being intellectually superior. The notion of a God who will bring Judgment is unacceptable to them.

Despite the overwhelming evidence that we live in a universe that screams of many cataclysmic events, James Hutton, around the turn of the 19th century, proposed the now commonly accepted and taught view of uniformitarianism – ‘the past is the key to the present’ / ‘nothing changes, everything carries on as it always has’. He countered the then popular view Neptunism theory espoused by Abraham Werner et al which claimed that rocks had originated from a great flood and were basically sedimentary in origin – much as the Bible taught.

Within a few years Hutton’s ideas were picked up and championed by James Lyell, who wrote the infamous ‘Principle of Geology’ which in a stroke eradicated the writings of Moses in the minds of the worlds academia. There was now an alternative explanation of the history of the world that didn’t have to include the God of the Bible (and the personal moral challenge that entailed).

It just so happened that a young Charles Darwin was given a copy of Lyell’s book as he set out on his voyage on the Beagle. This changed his thinking and gave him a ‘millions of years’ framework from which would come his theory of evolution.

Thus Peter – and the Word of God – were proven right! Scoffers have come and they now do deny that  Jesus will return, that He is Creator, and that there was once a worldwide flood.

In this study we look at some of the clear evidence that shows the geologic column – the backbone to ‘millions of years’ – is pure fabrication. Without it the theories of Hutton, Lyell and Darwin come crashing down.

Peter concludes by asking; “Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be?” 

The answer is simple, we must be holy and Godly as we expectantly wait for Christ’s return which will usher in the end of this age and bring in ‘everlasting righteousness’!

In this 3rd teaching on the fallacy of the theory of evolution as proposed by Charles Darwin, pastor Barry explains to the children that what they will be taught in school on this subject is somewhat lacking in scientific support! [There is no actual scientific support!]

Even the much-publicised finches on the Galapagos Islands, so often heralded as ‘proof of evolution’, are merely an example of adaptation within a kind – they started off as birds, what did they become? Birds! They did not change into anything else! They already had the genetic information to make a beak, that information allowed for variation, but it did not allow them to become something other than the bird-kind they already were!

It is also important to recognise that, so often, in a classroom setting, children, are asked ‘bad questions’, i.e. questions that lead them to make unjustified assumptions, assuming evolution to be an already proven fact, rather than teaching them to think critically and ask, is evolution scientifically possible in the first place!  – to which the answer is a resounding no!

Then there is the subtle way evolution’s proponents employ a ‘bait and switch’ tactic, pointing to something that is science, such as variation within a kind, when can be observed and is completly in accord with the Bible, but then making the colossal leap to suggest that proves the things we cannot obseve (e.g. reptiles evolving into birds) are also true. It’s the kind of ‘my dog has four legs…. my cat has four legs, therefore my cat is a dog!’ argument.

Another thing, seldom taught, is the various things we have to consider if we are to honestly talk about evolution (rather than merely the indoctrination that pervades our education system). For example, Macro Evolution is most commonly taught (the origin of the major kinds), but no time is given to the discussion of Cosmic or Chemical evolution, without which the show can’t get started in the first place! How do chemical’s come into being? or evolve?

Finally, in this teaching, we considered the still-taught ‘Nebular Hypothesis’. In a nutshll this is the idea that the planets in our solar system all originally came from filaments ejected from our Sun, that then cooled and became the planets we know today. This idea has been totaly debunked by true science!

Incredibly, although popularised by Immanuel Kant in his 1755 book “General History of Nature and Theory of the Heavens”, Kant got much of his ideas from a work published in Latin by Emanuel Swedenborg. Swedenborg claimed he, in turn, had got his information from seances with men on Jupiter, Saturn and places more distant!

Yes, it really is as bad as that! Our education system will champion a theory proposed by a man who claimed to have psychic powers and was given his information by aliens!

The Bible says we must cast down every argument that stops people looking to God. Evolution is exactly that, and since Michael Gove’s decision, when he was Education Security in 2014, to teach evolution to primary school children, we must challenge the non-science that is being taught to our children as a true account of our origins.

In this session Pastor Barry looks back at a significant event that occurred 158 years ago (on this day) – ‘The Great Debate’ in Oxford, England, and explains to the Children that, with what we now know from Science, Evolution has been shown to be impossible!

Darwin’s book has been shown to be false, the Bible has been shown to be true!

The publication of Darwin’s Origin of the Species on 24 November 1859 caused ripples through an academic community that, up to that point, had accepted the Biblical explanations of our origins. Sir Isaac Newton (1643 – 1727), among other prominent scientists (including René Descartes), upheld “that the physical laws he had uncovered revealed the mechanical perfection of the workings of the universe to be akin to a watchmaker, wherein the watchmaker is God”.

Bishop William Paley (1743–1805), in defending the Biblical view, and building on Newton’s comments said that the watch, with its gears, springs, and other mechanisms could never arise by the actions of random chance alone; and thus life itself, being immeasurably more complex, could not be the product of random chance either. Scottish philosopher and historian David Hume (1711-1776), who held notoriously ambiguous views of Christianity, responded by saying that “Living systems only have the appearance of machines, Unless it can be proven that living systems are indeed machines at the molecular level, then Paley’s watchmaker argument is irrelevant”  

This paved the way for The Great Debate at Oxford on June 30^th 1860 where Bishop Samuel Wilberforce (1805-1873) stood to defend the Biblical belief in deliberate design by a Designer (often referred to as The Teleological Argument). Thomas Henry Huxley (1825-1895), nicknamed ‘Darwin’s bulldog’, opposed Wilberforce and sought to champion Darwin’s concept of evolution by natural selection, which had been published less than a year before.

Darwin had said: “If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ existed, which could not possibly have been formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications, my theory would absolutely break down. But I can find no such case” ⁴³. Regardless of however unlikely it may seem, If Huxley could prove evolution was possible, Wilberforce’s argument for design would break down.

Wilberforce is generally considered to have lost the argument because of the challenge brought by Huxley (some also credit Darwin’s friend, the botanist Joseph Hooker). Huxley’s argument was simple: using mathematical logic and the laws of probability he argued that if time is infinite, then the probability must = 1. To ‘prove’ his point he argued that if he be hypothetically given 6 monkeys, each with a typewriter, a limitless supply of paper, and limitless time, the monkeys would, by random key-strokes alone, eventually be able to type all the works of Shakespeare, the 23 Psalm etc. etc. Wilberforce was stumped and it was hailed as a victory for Darwin’s evolution by natural selection.

However, it’s funny how time brings with it illumination!

Thanks to the advances in science, and the invention of the electron microscope, we are now able to see a ‘simple cell’ in a way that Huxley, Wilberforce and Darwin could never have dreamed of.

Michael Denton, in his book, ‘Evolution: A Theory In Crisis’ (1986) stated: “Although the tiniest bacterial cells are incredibly small, each is in effect a veritable micro-miniaturized factory containing thousands of exquisitely designed pieces of intricate molecular machinery, made up of 100,000,000,000 atoms, far more complicated than any machine built by man and absolutely without parallel in the non-living world”

Because of the law of mass action as described above, we can now see the scientific flaw in Huxley’s argument. For a protein to form, it would require the joining together of a long complex chain of amino acids, but as explained, in the proposed early earth atmosphere, in the primordial watery soup, whenever an amino acid joined the chain, an existing amino acid would break off.

For Huxley, this would be the equivalent to one of his monkeys randomly striking the ‘E’ key, then the next key struck – randomly – being the ‘v’; but when the third key was struck, randomly giving an ‘o’,

the first ‘E’ would break away!

Even given limitless time, you would therefore never get ‘E-v-o-l-u-t-i-o-n’.

Sir Fred Hoyle said: “The speculations of The Origin of Species turned out to be wrong… It is ironic that the scientific facts throw Darwin out, but leave William Paley, a figure of fun to the scientific world for more than a century, still in the tournament with a chance of being the ultimate winner”

“Modern microbiology has revealed that even the simplest organisms are complex machines beyond our imagining. Science has refuted Hume and totally vindicated Paley”

In this teaching we presented to our Children some of the simple reasons that prove Evolution is stupid – it just cannot and did not happen! Yet sadly it is still taught in the classrooms to our vulnerable and impressionable children as a scientific fact.

One of the examples we looked at was the ‘Molecular Chirality’ of the amino acids the make-up Proteins.  Proteins are made up of entirely left-handed amino acids. There are 20 amino acids found in living systems but only about 10% of these have been able to be produced in laboratory experiments designed to simulate the earth atmosphere as proposed by evolutionists.  Out of the 10% that have been formed by ‘random chance’ in a laboratory, there has been a mix of 50/50 right and left handed amino acids. Evolutionists have yet to explain how, by random chance, 100% left handed amino acids are found in living systems. As we demonstrated by flipping coins, by random chance, you are never going to get all just one type, all of the time, every time!!

There are so many more examples that we can give to show that the ‘high quality science education’ our government wants to foister on the minds of our children is nothing short of secular humanism. Yet when we mention the God who Created all things we are told we are guilty of indoctrination!

The mantra of today’s schools, colleges and universities is ‘In the beginning Nothing…’ Then they call the Biblical explanation, with a beginning (verified by science), a universe that has been stretched out (verified by science), an Earth that is a globe (verified by science) hanging on nothing in space (verified by science), a Sun and Moon that exist to enable life on Earth and mark seasons (observable), life that suddenly appears on Earth (observable in the fossil record), creatures that reproduce only after their kind (verified by science and observation), a human race that is degenerating (verified by science), a world-wide flood (observable), a world that once had a uniform climate (verified by science), an ocean with ‘pathways’ (verified by science), the hydro cycle (verified by science)  etc. etc… they call all of this, ‘myth’ or ‘religious belief’, but nothing exploding and defying countless laws of nature and violating unnumbered scientific facts, this they call “scientific knowledge, supported by extensive, robust evidence”

Simon highlighted that there are two opposing worldviews that are constantly in conflict with each other. One is based on man’s wisdom and follows man’s rules. The other is based on the Bible – God’s wisdom – and His rules.

As parents, grandparents and any who have influence and impact in the lives of children, we need to lay a godly foundation for our children based on the Bible in every area of their lives. They will be bombarded by this ‘humanist worldview’ by the education system, the media, the entertainment industry and their peers. However, if we ‘train our children in the way they should go’, giving them a solid biblical foundation and reasons for the questions they have, they will not depart from it.

Those who were with us on Sunday were blessed by Simon’s talk. If you were unable to be there, it is worth listening to, and then sharing with others.

“The family is under attack today like never before. Wise parents need to recognize this and develop their own strategy for protection and counter-attack. A generation is arising around us that knows not the things of God, allowing (and even encouraging) pre-marital sex, abortion, homosexuality, gay marriages, gay clergy, and easy divorce. By and large, they do not believe there is such a thing as absolute truth or absolute morality. Not only is this degenerate generation arising, it already has arisen. While a remnant of truth seekers remains, the attack on the family has the potential to eliminate Christian absolutes from our society.

The attack is coming from those who build their thinking on the anti-God beliefs that are destroying society. This attack on the Word of God has resulted in the demise of the family unit—the very unit God uses to transmit the knowledge of himself to each generation and the world around”.
