In this study, recorded at our family service on Sunday 5th March 2017, Sim Forder (assistant pastor at Calvary Chapel Deal – aka Deal Christian Fellowship) looks at the subject of Forgiveness. Using 1 Corinthians 6 as the starting point, Sim takes us through a number of scriptures that show that forgiveness is not just an optional extra for Christians.
As C. S. Lewis said: “To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you”
This is a message every member of a church congregation needs to listen to, it is a message every church needs to listen to, we would then be amazed at how many supposed ‘denominational’ differences would evaporate and how many ‘church splits’ would never happen. Sadly, we are more prone to seek retribution than reconciliation, we are more inclined to want to expose those who wrong us rather than see them restored.
