Session 25 – Jeremiah & Lamentations

This study of the books of Jeremiah and Lamentations, taught by Pastor Barry Forder, is the 25th session of our ‘Through-the-Bible-in-a-Year’ series recorded during 2014 as part of our Sunday morning family services.

More is known about Jeremiah than any other Old Testament prophet. Often referred to a the ‘weeping prophet’, Jeremiah preached to a nation who did not want to hear. Sometimes the burden was overwhelming and he wanted to quit, but God had His hand on this man; and although Jeremiah could probably have listed a hundred other things he could have done with his life, he could never get away from the call of God.

This book is an encouragement to anyone in ministry, that it is not about success, but obedience.

Jeremiah preached during the darkest days of the kingdom of Judah, from the reign of Manasseh (Judah’s worst king)to the fall of Jerusalem in 587 B.C.

May this overview prompt you to undertake your own study of these divinely inspired books.
