This teaching is our 15th session in our verse-by-verse study of the Book of Genesis by pastor Barry – given as part of our family service on 4th June 2017.
In this session, we look at the walk of Abraham and his growing in knowledge and grace, from the first altar he built to the Lord at Shechem, to the place of ultimate sacrifice.
Abram continued his journey away from the things of this world and to the place of fellowship with God. This is what God wants for us all.
In Chapter 14 we see the LORD use pagan kings to start to cleanse the promised land from the ‘giant’ problem that existed in Canaan – the result of Satan’s plan to stop the Seed of the woman (the Messiah) being born. We also see in type how the ‘king from below’ tried to offer Abram worldly goods in exchange for the souls of the people – nothing changes!
You can listen to the audio on this web page, or save it for listening to later. We have also made available the Powerpoint slides (in PDF format) that outline the key points of this study.
We hope and pray this teaching will bless you and encourage you to undertake your own personal study and adventure in God’s Word!
