What happens when the ultimate religious insider meets the living Son of God? In John 3:1–15, we encounter Nicodemus—a Pharisee, a member of the Sanhedrin, and a man recognized as “the teacher of Israel.” He represented the absolute peak of human morality, religious devotion, and biblical scholarship. Yet, coming to Jesus under the cover of […]

This second section of chapter 1 continues looking at the fundamentally divine nature of Jesus the Messiah. Many small items in scripture add up to a magnificent interlocking edifice of evidence to the supernatural, long-timespan, matrix of paths to the birth, life, death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus. Pastor Barry told us the reason […]

John

This is the first study in our verse-by-verse expositional study of the Gospel of John. Some have tried to say the Bible never claims that Jesus is God. This gospel was written as an intentional defense of the fact that Jesus is God, manifest in the flesh, Who came to reveal the Father to us. […]

In this study we continue over verse-by-verse joutney through the book of Ruth. It has been said that this book stands out like a diamond on a black cloth, ‘a beautiful day in the midst of a season of storms’. Spurgeon said “The Book of Ruth is like a lovely flower in a garden of […]

Has God finished with Israel? That’s the question Paul asks in Romans chapter 11. His emphatic answer should put an end to the debate, yet sadly, antisemitism has been as rife in the Christian church through the centuries as it has in the world. Here, Paul not only makes his case from scripture, but warns […]

In Romans chapter 10, the Apostle Paul states that ‘faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God’. To put it another way, the Word of God causes us to hear, to perceive, to understand. It gives us an understanding of who God is, of what He’s done, of His faithfulness to the […]

In this study we look at one of the most foundational, and yet divisive topics in scripture, the Nation of Israel. It is a topic we cannot ignore! From Genesis 12 to Acts 2, the Nation of Israel is the major theme of the Bible; and we cannot escape the fact that Jesus was Jewish, […]
